Highlights from the recomine-simul⁺Forum

On Thursday, December 15, 2022, the recomine alliance held its regular status meeting, this time together with the simul⁺InnovationHub of the Saxon State Ministry for Regional Development as a joint simul⁺Forum in the Alte Mensa in Freiberg. The topic was recomine innovations in the field of mining waste in science, industry and society. With about 40 guests as well as 16 digital viewers, the hybrid event was discussed together. Saxony's Minister for Regional Development Thomas Schmidt welcomed the participants at the beginning in a video message, which showed the importance of the recomine activities with regard to the new Saxon Raw Materials Strategy. In addition to the presentation of news from the alliance and new funding opportunities, the mayor of the municipality of Halsbrücke Andreas Beger also presented the importance of mining and recomine projects in the region. In a pitch session in the afternoon, the coordinators presented their new recomine projects, which are expected to start next year. Finally, Dr. Ulrich Bobe from Wirtschaftsförderung Erzgebirge presented the results of the project "recomine SN-CZ" (funded by the EU Interreg program "Cooperation Saxony - Czech Republic"), which enabled recomine institutions to get in touch with partner institutions in the Czech Republic in several networking events during the last 1 ½ years.
