recomine SN-CZ in Hartenstein - Highlights from the Workshop

Highlighs from the workshop "Radon polluted contaminated sites (waters and dumps)" in Aue - Bad Schlema on June 16, 2022.

Within the framework of our Saxon-Czech cooperation project "recomine SN-CZ" (supported by the EU Interreg Program "Cooperation Saxony - Czech Republic"), 35 interested people met at the site of WISMUT GmbH, shaft 371 in Hartenstein, on June 16, 2022, to exchange views on the issues of contaminated sites from mining in earlier centuries. In this case, of course, uranium ore played a major role. The topics of tailings and radon were discussed, experiences were exchanged and joint fields of action were coordinated, because mining issues do not stop at borders - on the contrary: innovative solutions can be marketed worldwide. In a small excursion, successes such as the golf course on a rehabilitated tailings pile were visited.
