The recomine-alliance met on February 6, 2020, for a status meeting in the Alte Mensa in Freiberg. Around 70 participants represented institutions that play key regional roles in the areas of contaminated mine remediation, environmental technology, professional training and further education, official administration, civic interest representation and knowledge transfer. The guests attended presentations on ongoing recomine projects, took part in a speed dating and networked informally over a traditional Saxon dinner.
The alliance coordinator, Philipp Büttner, presented a new communication design that includes a new corporate brand description and a new website that was developed by the Haus E advertising agency from Chemnitz.
In January, the recomine-advisory board recommended four recomine projects to the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) for funding. All four projects briefly presented themselves at the status meeting. In the final presentation, the Saxony Economic Development Corporation (Wirtschaftsförderung Sachsen GmbH) showed the alliance options for international commercialization of the recomine projects. During a speed dating, the alliance partners came together in lively discussions and initiated the informal part of the event, which encouraged networking and discussion of future projects.
