A short review of the last recomine status meeting and get together on 21/06/2023 at the Alte Elisabeth mine in Freiberg.

On the longest (and almost hottest) day of the year, about 40 alliance partners met again for the half-yearly status meeting to present news from the alliance and the 17 research and development projects and to discuss the future of recomine. Once again, the diversity of the projects and the associated potential for reuse became apparent, especially with regard to the topics of digitalisation, circular economy and closing the loop, e.g. in the areas of materials and solutions for water purification.

During the following get-together, the participants had the opportunity to visit the historic mine shaft and the GEO-Mobil of GEOPARK Sachsens Mitte in a special mining atmosphere. Afterwards, they watched the documentary film "EN EL NOMBRE DEL LITIO" about the critical view of the consequences of lithium mining from the perspective of the local population in Argentina and discussed it with Oscar Choque from Ayni - Verein für Ressourcengerechtigkeit e.V..
